At the beginning stage, one must know why he/she wants to start a martial art training.

The path for someone who wants an alternative sport, to burn a few calories, to earn a good balance is totally different than the path for some one who wants to learn self-defence or to become competetive in a martial art.

So one's training is going to vary greatly according to his/her needs and expectations.

If one desires, supplementary weight training or endurance training can be added to his/her training program. This type of training focuses on strengthening specific parts of the body and to be stable in the continuity of strength, and has no similarity with the Hypertrophy training used in body-building. Also, healty weight gaining and losing can be achieved with this training.
